(communiqué en anglais)
NAPLES, Fla. USA / Thurday 12 July 2011 -
The IT and data management research and consulting firm Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) recognized ASG Software Solutions (ASG) with three awards in its EMA Radar™ for CMDB/CMS Use Cases – Innovation through Diversity: Q2 2011. ASG was named as the vendor with the most platform-like Configuration Management Database and Configuration Management System (CMDB/CMS) solution.
“ASG combines platform-like breadth of functionality and design with an outwardly facing approach to assimilating relevant management sources outside the ASG brand – which is, in a sense, the best of both worlds for a company’s CMDB/CMS investment. The acquisition of PS’Soft enhanced ASG’s positioning as the most platform-like solution on the market,”said Dennis Drogseth, EMA’s Vice President of Research.
Specifically, EMA honored ASG with three awards:
- ASG ranked first as a “Value Leader” for its ability to address complex Service Impact requirements. EMA highlighted ASG’s unique capabilities for assimilating third-party information, including that from performance management solutions, as well as its ability to federate and adapt to real-time insights, such as visualized mash-ups.
- ASG was one of four “Value Leaders” in Asset Management. The company received the highest overall score among all vendors in this category. Previously EMA had named ASG a “Value Leader” in the May 2011 EMA Radar for Software Asset Management.
- ASG was further recognized for its “Strong Value in Change Management”, ranking among the top third of all vendors. ASG’s strengths include advanced capabilities for application discovery and dependency mapping as well as insights into asset lifecycle issues and the ability to validate the impact of change after deployment.
“Configuration Management Database and Configuration Management System technologies are powerful enablers for businesses,” said Ian Rowlands, Senior Director of Product Management at ASG. “ASG solutions allow the reconciliation and effective usage of various sources of service management information to support virtually all IT processes.”
The EMA Radar Report™ analyzes the products and overall market position of industry-leading vendors. EMA interviewed eleven vendors for the CMDB/CMS Use Cases Radar Report. Each vendor completed a comprehensive questionnaire consisting of nearly 100 questions and over 500 data points. The survey questions covered the five key functions common to all EMA Radar Reports, which include Architecture, Functionality, Deployment & Administration, Vendor Strength, and Cost Advantage. ASG was the largest company surveyed for this report.
